Production Artist Intern

Support the marketing team in creating technical documents, including brochures and visual illustrations. Assist with design and layout of technical documents and photo pages.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and layout of technical documents and photo pages
• Designs may integrate typographic, photographic, illustrative, video and graphic elements
• Work closely with graphic designers to ensure consistency of Musco’s identity through advertisements, direct mail, presentations, brochures, and websites
• Coordinate design elements from concept to final production
• Communicate and build relationships with internal team members to produce materials in an accurate and timely manner
• Evaluating sales tools to ensure a consistent message and standard of quality
• Operating production printer and plotter to print finalized documents, including internal materials and community project deliverables
• Ensuring output quality and troubleshooting basic print issues as needed
• Keeping current on graphic trends and technologies through trade publications and educational training opportunities
• Experimenting with new tools / technology and evaluating effectiveness

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or two years related experience and/or training
• Adaptable and comfortable shifting between projects and priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects efficiently and effectively
• Self-motivated, with the capacity to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision

Key Skills

• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, AutoCAD, and Inventor
• Familiarity with video editing software is a plus
• Strong design and illustration skills, with the ability to develop and produce high-quality sales tools
• Knowledge of pre-press workflows and production printing processes is required
• Skilled at translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and visually compelling illustrations
• Sound judgment and decision-making aligned with Musco’s mission and marketing goals
• Exceptional attention to detail across design, layout, and production tasks
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges
