Payloads Senior Design Engineering Manager

Manage a team of engineers and first-level managers in mechanical and structural engineering. Develop and execute departmental plans and maintain relationships with stakeholders and partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering
• Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
• Acquire resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
• Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
• Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
• Manage, develop and motivate employees and first-level managers

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
• Previous experience leading a team as a manager
• Ability to travel 10% of the time
