Contextual is seeking a designer to create foundational UI patterns and design systems, then adapt them to specific client implementations. The role requires 3-5 years of experience and a strong preference for candidates in and around the Austin, TX area.
Responsibilities
- Create scalable UI patterns and templates reusable across clients
- Translate complex processes into intuitive, step-by-step journeys
- Collaborate with Product and Platform teams to evolve a shared design system
- Partner with Delivery Leads and Engineers to customize and implement designs
- Balance information density with usability through thoughtful hierarchy and progressive disclosure
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience designing business-facing, authenticated Web products
- Expertise with data grids, tables, sorting/filtering, bulk actions, and visualization
- Workflow and multi-step process design experience
- Strong Figma experience with components, variants, and structured handoffs
- Proficiency in responsive, data-heavy interfaces and reusable component systems
