The UX Designer will provide analytical and creative ideas to enhance the visual appearance and functionality of software applications. They will act as a user advocate during the development process and support the design of intuitive user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide both highly analytical and creative ideas in directing the visual appearance and functionality of all new features and enhancements on software applications
- Work with the Manager, User Experience to initiate, suggest, and spearhead major UI re-factorings for a more intuitive user-experience
- Support the Manager, User Experience in designing elegant solutions to complex workflows
- Act as the user-advocate during the development process, subjecting early-stage designs to usability testing or expert review, and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Design, Engineering, Business, or Information Technology with emphasis on user experience
- Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills, and sketchbook technique
- Exceptional design skills, production value, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in design techniques such as wireframing, task analysis, sketching, prototyping, as well as strong working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other associated design tools
