Senior Product Designer

A Senior Product Designer is needed to join the Factory Systems team at Joby, a company that is working on certifying the world's first eVTOL aircraft and launching the first Urban Air Mobility service. The designer will play a critical role in designing the tools used daily by the people building the aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Lead design from research and discovery through wireframes, prototypes, and final specs
• Translate complex technical workflows into simple, elegant user experiences
• Balance big-picture systems design with pixel-level attention to detail
• Collaborate closely with PMs and engineers as a strategic partner in shaping products
• Conduct user research and usability testing with factory, engineering, and quality teams
• Create and maintain scalable design systems
• Explore opportunities to incorporate AI into both the design process and end-user solutions, defining best practices for responsible AI integration
• Rapidly prototype and test ideas to validate decisions early

Requirements

• BA/BS in Design, HCI, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of product design experience, with a portfolio of complex systems or enterprise tools
• Strong skills in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch)
• Ability to simplify complex workflows through thoughtful interaction design
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
