Lead UX Designer (contract)

BNY is seeking a Lead UX Designer to guide the UX strategy and hands-on design execution for a large-scale workflow platform supporting credit risk and financial decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Drive design direction, establish frameworks, and ensure alignment with platform goals and branding
• Produce wireframes, prototypes, user flows, dashboards, and design artifacts in Figma
• Apply and refine existing design standards to maintain consistency across integrated applications
• Interpret user feedback, research insights, workflows, and use cases to inform design decisions
• Partner with product, technology, and business stakeholders, including the Chief Credit Officer’s org and engineering leads

Requirements

• 10+ years of UX/Product Design experience, with strong interaction, visual design, and research depth
• Highly independent, able to lead UX direction with minimal oversight
• Proven experience in enterprise-scale design and collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, able to influence and justify design decisions
• Bachelor’s degree in UX, HCI, Psychology, Design, or related field (or equivalent experience)
