UX Designer - Public Sector

IBM CIC seeks a UX Designer to join their team for a public sector project, focusing on designing intuitive digital solutions following GDS principles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features following the GDS design principles
• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs for web and mobile applications
• Develop and maintain design systems and style guides
• Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices
• Advocate for users and ensure their needs are met in all design decisions
• Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders throughout the entire design process

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
• Professional experience in UX design
• Proven experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) design principles and standards
• Solid understanding of user-centered design (UCD) methodologies and processes
• Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of UX design projects, particularly those within the public sector
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design

Key Skills

• Certification in UCD, such as the International Professional Certification in User Experience (Ipcux)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Familiarity with IBM design tools and methodologies
• Knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, and content strategy
• Experience in conducting user interviews, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations
• Proficiency in HTML/CSS for creating interactive prototypes
• Experience with design tokens and component libraries
• Understanding of data privacy regulations, especially those applicable to government projects
• Experience with designing for voice interfaces or emerging technologies
