IBM CIC seeks a UX Designer to join their team for a public sector project, focusing on designing intuitive digital solutions following GDS principles.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features following the GDS design principles
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs for web and mobile applications
- Develop and maintain design systems and style guides
- Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices
- Advocate for users and ensure their needs are met in all design decisions
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders throughout the entire design process
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
- Professional experience in UX design
- Proven experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) design principles and standards
- Solid understanding of user-centered design (UCD) methodologies and processes
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of UX design projects, particularly those within the public sector
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design
Key Skills
- Certification in UCD, such as the International Professional Certification in User Experience (Ipcux)
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Familiarity with IBM design tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, and content strategy
- Experience in conducting user interviews, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS for creating interactive prototypes
- Experience with design tokens and component libraries
- Understanding of data privacy regulations, especially those applicable to government projects
- Experience with designing for voice interfaces or emerging technologies
