Okta is seeking a UX/UI Designer to transform customer self-service experiences across Okta and Auth0, focusing on improving key business metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead UX Research and Strategy: Proactively perform mixed-methods UX research to deeply understand user pain points, needs, and behaviors
  • Drive Strategic Design Vision: Take a hard look at existing experience, identify friction points, and articulate a clear, data-informed strategy for improving key outcomes
  • Design for Impact and Agility: Design and refine high-fidelity wireframes, detailed user flows, and interactive prototypes for complex projects
  • Elevate Design Quality: Ensure all design work maintains a high degree of fidelity, visual appeal, and consistency, pushing our brand while adhering to our design system
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Content teams, acting as the design domain expert
  • Present and Defend Rationale: Clearly present design solutions and the data-driven rationale behind them to stakeholders, tying design decisions directly to business goals and customer outcomes

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience focused on complex, strategic, and metrics-driven design projects
  • Expert-level proficiency with Figma and a deep understanding of responsive design principles
  • Proven expertise in leveraging and contributing to an existing design system
  • Extensive experience designing and optimizing self-service support portals and online community platforms for technical practitioners
  • Strong understanding of how to define success metrics, iterate on designs, and refine solutions based on user testing and performance data
  • Experience in designing AI-powered tools, intelligent agents, or generative AI interfaces within a support context (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS) sufficient to collaborate effectively with implementation teams
  • Deep empathy for technical users
