Google is seeking an Interaction Designer to design frameworks and components for user journeys across Workspace apps, focusing on defining design system usage, governance, and collaboration models.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and partners to ensure consistent, supported user experiences across the Workspace product areas.
  • Advocate for and deliver a high standard of craft and excellence by applying user-centered principles and leveraging an understanding of design systems and patterns.
  • Prioritize work while building and managing stakeholder relationships and expectations across a range of projects with varying scope and timelines.
  • Build relationships with peers and leaders to reinforce cohesive, well-informed, and consistent UX across the entire Workspace organization.
  • Contribute to an environment where every team member feels supported, comfortable, and empowered to be their authentic self.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience designing across multiple platforms.
  • Experience working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and building user interface mockups and prototypes.
  • Preferred: Experience in shaping, aligning, and driving UX narratives and programs.
  • Preferred: Experience designing for developer-centered products, tools, or platforms.
  • Preferred: Experience partnering with UX Research to understand, inform, and validate product quality and usability.
  • Preferred: Experience with Figma for designing and extending design systems and component libraries.
  • Preferred: Ability to create and clearly communicate product experiences through prototypes and detailed design specifications.
  • Preferred: Ability to contribute to innovative, successful products, UI systems, or frameworks, with visual design sensibilities for consistency.
