You will set the long-term design vision and lead large design projects across various product areas. Additionally, you will mentor designers and act as an ambassador for the Design team within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Setting the long-term design vision and leading large, end-to-end design projects in ambiguous problem spaces across wide product areas
- Navigating tradeoffs and guiding strategic decisions in an opinionated way
- Continuing to raise the bar for design craft and product excellence at Monzo
- Partnering with cross-functional leaders to define and execute product strategies
- Proactively addressing systemic challenges, reducing complexity, and creating better conditions for teams
- Acting as a visible ambassador for Design, sharing work and its impact across the company
- Mentoring and levelling up designers across the discipline
Requirements
- Strategic thinker who can shape product direction across multiple areas
- Expert in product design with strong foundational skills
- Proven track record of delivering high-impact design work
- Excellent visual and UI skills
- Ability to think through complex interaction design
- Curiosity about new tools, ways of working, and technology
- Thrives in ambiguity and complex, fast-changing environments
- Natural collaborator, skilled at working cross-functionally
- Role model for resilience, rational decision-making, and effective communication
- Passionate about growing and shaping the Design team
