Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated understanding of government content guidelines (e.g., GOV.UK), content best practices, and writing for accessibility.
  • Skilled in using Design Systems (such as Storybook and Figma) to build and maintain consistent prototypes and visual designs.
  • Familiarity and, ideally, experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar content management systems.
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information—particularly in financial or investment contexts—into clear, plain English.
  • Experience producing a range of content types, including microcopy, conversational interfaces, product marketing materials, and instructional content, with an adaptable tone and format depending on the medium.
  • Contribution to research and discovery activities, including assisting with research plans, discussion guides, prototype creation, and synthesizing insights.
  • Ownership of the design production and sign-off process, collaborating with product teams, business stakeholders, and compliance partners.
  • Active engagement with key collaborators such as product managers, marketers, UX designers, developers, and subject matter experts across legal, compliance, business strategy, and customer services.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, the Double Diamond process, and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, as this will be the main environment for creating and iterating design work.

Requirements

  • Flexible in working style—able to adapt methods and collaboration approaches based on project type and team dynamics.
  • Highly autonomous, capable of identifying priorities and driving work forward without needing detailed direction.
  • Proactive and accountable, continuously looking for ways to contribute, improve processes, and add value.
  • Naturally curious, eager to understand how products and operations work, and committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Builds trust and strong communication with other designers and teammates, fostering collaboration and alignment.
  • Open-minded and team-oriented, valuing constructive feedback and engaging in thoughtful design discussions.
  • Confident leading the design conversation—from conceptualization to running meetings, workshops, and engaging the right stakeholders to gather insights.
