Graphic Designer- Project Hire/ Internal Assignment

Support the project team for the design and implementation of assigned projects. Develop varied environmental graphic and themed signage solutions for project work at all stages from design concepts to detailed fabrication document packages.
Responsibilities
- Support the project team for the design and implementation of assigned projects.
- Research various interior, architectural, and graphic design genres, themes and historical timelines to help inform project design and define the art direction.
- Develop varied environmental graphic and themed signage solutions for project work at all stages from design concepts, developing design details, design constructability, and scaled technical drawings for fabrication.
- Create detailed scaled design renderings in the form of hand-drawn sketches, vector illustrations, and photo-realistic compositions.
- Develop design constructability, and articulate design intent notation, including materials and color callouts.
- Ensure that the creative intent is achieved by integrating sign design with other teams and components of the facility's exterior, interior, and area development.
- Prepare specific deliverables including scope of work, location plans, elevations, and detailed fabrication document packages.
- Provide high-quality, to scale, layered production art files in Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe Photoshop.
- Ensure adherence to department/divisional Standards of Practice.
- Provide support to multiple Environmental Graphic design projects by assisting in project design development and technical documentation.
- Make daily decisions on a scope of work with guidance from the Lead Graphic Designer.
- Communicate and coordinate with others in the department and as part of a larger, multidiscipline project team.
- Could act as Graphic Design Representative at project team meetings.
- Support the implementation of project goals through the development of design solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Environmental Graphic design practice.
- Knowledge of Sign Code requirements for facilities and Theme Park applications.
- Strong artistic skills and experience with thoughtful design, with a clear understanding of the fundamentals of Graphic Design to solve graphic and way-finding challenges.
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite design and illustration programs (including Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design), Sketch-up and MS Office Suite.
- Strong typography skills, color theory, visual hierarchy and spatial judgement.
- Knowledge of Architectural Graphic Design and sign construction techniques.
- Knowledge of wayfinding and programming Architectural Signage for different applications (parks, hotels, restaurants, retail, museums, parking facilities, etc.).
- Knowledge of all phases of a sign design program.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program required.
Key Skills
