Lead Product Designer – Infotainment and Navigation

Rivian seeks an experienced Infotainment Product Designer to join their Digital Studio to design digital products for Rivian vehicles, mobile app, Media, Navigation, and more.

Responsibilities

• Work across a wide variety of design projects within the Infotainment and Navigation
• Work closely with partners to define the user problems and opportunities for improving the experience and performance of infotainment products
• Collaborate with design teams within vehicle UX to create a cohesive experience vehicle and mobile app
• Work closely with UX Research team to understand user needs through user studies and testing
• Iterate on possible solutions throughout the design process, from early sketches to polished final prototypes
• Present work to business stakeholders and design leadership
• Document final designs in detailed handoff files
• Apply design system to drive consistency across digital ecosystem
• Work with Design Systems team to stretch and redefine patterns when needed
• Work closely with development partners throughout build process to test in-flight work in-vehicle prior to release

Requirements

• 7-10+ years developing and launching zero-to-one software products
• Demonstrated expertise in designing user-centric digital products for embedded systems or mobile applications (Automotive preferred)
• Proficiency in Figma and other design tools to craft interactive prototypes and details UI Specifications
• Able to work in an agile and iterative fast-paced development environment with a strong understanding of design systems
• A compelling visual portfolio of work to demonstrate design experience
• Demonstrated ability in crafting strategic design briefs to set the framing and scope of each project
• Experience working closely with cross-functional teams in an agile fashion
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortability with context switching and being a “Jack-of-all-trades”
• Proficiency in emerging artificial intelligence design and process tools
• High proficiency with creative tools; Adobe Creative Suite, Figma
