Director of Product Design

Phantom seeks a design leader to shape the vision and quality of design across its product ecosystem, manage a design team, and foster a user-centered culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow our world-class design team, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Executive leadership
• Lead career growth and mentorship for the design team, fostering creative excellence
• Provide strategic design leadership across product areas, ensuring alignment with Phantom’s mission, product goals, and brand
• Manage, mentor, and scale a team of high-performing product designers
• Champion design excellence, accessibility, and simplicity across all platforms and user touchpoints
• Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to shape the product roadmap, define user journeys, and identify new opportunities to improve Phantom’s experience
• Elevate our design systems and operational processes to ensure consistency, quality, and scalability
• Foster a culture of user-centered thinking, rapid iteration, and cross-team collaboration
• Represent design in company-wide initiatives, executive reviews, and external engagements

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience
• Experience building and managing design teams
• Track record of designing and shipping high-quality, mobile-first consumer products for millions of users at scale
• Proven experience owning and leading the design of core product flows
• Strong product judgment and strategic thinking
• Extensive experience using data to inform and validate design decisions
• Deep understanding of design systems, interaction design, and visual storytelling
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on design work when needed
• Passion for mentoring and developing designers at all levels
• Experience in crypto, a crypto-native mindset or demonstrated interest in decentralized ecosystems
