The Product Designer - Mechanical will design and test HVAC equipment and systems according to client specifications and industry standards. Responsibilities include performing calculations, simulations, and analysis to optimize HVAC system performance and collaborating with teams to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
Responsibilities
- Designing and testing HVAC equipment and systems according to client specifications and industry standards using SolidWorks and other software tools
- Performing calculations, simulations, and analysis of HVAC systems to optimize performance, efficiency, cost, and manufacturability
- Preparing technical reports, drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and manufacturing documentation for HVAC projects
- Collaborating with manufacturing teams, other engineers, designers, contractors, and clients to ensure successful delivery of HVAC solutions
- Troubleshooting and resolving any issues or problems related to HVAC systems
- Providing service support to our existing clients by responding to their inquiries, requests, and feedback in a timely and professional manner
- Staying updated on the latest trends and developments in HVAC technology and engineering
Requirements
- Graduated from a Mechanical Engineering degree or Technology program
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, codes, standards, manufacturing, and testing related to the HVAC industry, including electrical and controls (asset)
- Application knowledge of international standards used in sustainable building design and the technical air distribution technologies used in green building design (asset)
- Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- Proficiency in using SolidWorks and other engineering tools
- Previous experience with sheet metal manufacturing processes (asset)
- MRP or ERP experience (asset)
- The ability to travel throughout North America
