Amivero is seeking a UI/UX Designer to collaborate with cross-functional teams to design intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital experiences for government IT systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital experiences that support critical government missions
- Turn complex workflows and data into user-friendly designs that are visually cohesive, Section 508-compliant, and optimized for usability
- Partner with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to understand business needs, user goals, and system requirements
- Translate ideas and requirements into wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
- Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to inform design decisions and iterate on solutions
- Develop and maintain design systems, pattern libraries, and style guides to ensure consistency across products
- Design for accessibility and compliance with Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA standards
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure design intent is accurately implemented
- Create responsive, mobile-friendly layouts and optimize workflows for usability and performance
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide design input throughout the product development lifecycle
Requirements
- US Citizenship required to obtain Public Trust DHS Public Trust preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree +4 years of experience (or equivalent experience)
- Experience designing user interfaces for web-based applications
- Familiarity with data visualization concepts and dashboard-style layouts
- Background working on federal IT projects or within secure, compliance-driven environments
- Understanding of how to integrate complex data and backend functionality into clear, user-friendly interfaces
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design, HCI, or related field and 4+ years of UI/UX experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in user-centered design for complex or data-driven applications
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision
- Experience designing for responsive web applications with a strong understanding of accessibility requirements
- Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with developers
- Proven ability to conduct user research, usability testing, and iterative design
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain design decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, agile environments and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Key Skills
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision
- Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
