Remote Full-time Director

Legends & ASM Global seeks a UX Design Director to lead digital design and UX vision, manage a team of UX designers, and ensure cohesive project delivery for eCommerce platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the overall digital design and UX vision. Align creative and UX strategies with capabilities, limitations, and eCommerce best practices. Collaborate closely with directors of development, eCommerce trading to ensure cohesive project delivery.
  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of UX designers. Set standards for design quality, consistency, and innovation across all projects. Oversee team resourcing and project prioritization.
  • Project Oversight & Execution: Guide the creation of wireframes, prototypes, user journeys, and high-fidelity designs. Ensure mobile-first, accessible, and conversion-optimized experiences. Provide creative direction on branding, art direction, and visual storytelling for storefronts.
  • Client Communication & Stakeholder Management: Present design concepts and UX strategies to clients and internal stakeholders. Act as a senior point of contact for key client design discussions.
  • Process & Tooling: Optimize design processes, systems, and tools to streamline delivery. Implement efficient design handoff processes to development teams, ensuring accuracy and alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Media, or related field (master’s degree preferred but not essential)
  • Experience designing for performance conversion rate optimization (CRO), A/B testing, and accessibility (ADA/WCAG compliance)
  • 8+ years of professional experience in digital design and UX, with at least 3–4 years in a leadership or director-level role
  • Proven track record of leading design teams in a digital agency or eCommerce environment
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating successful delivery of design systems, user experiences, and commercial outcomes across responsive web, mobile, and campaign creative
  • Experience working in Agile and sprint-based project delivery models
  • Hands-on experience with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud) is highly advantageous

  • Visionary design thinking and able to set the bar for creative innovation while balancing business, brand, and technical constraints
  • Deep knowledge of UX/UI principles, interaction design, usability testing, and human-centered design
  • Strong leadership and team development skills; able to coach, motivate, and retain high-performing creatives
  • Excellent communication skills confidently presenting to clients and internal execs and translating abstract ideas into tangible strategies
  • Highly proficient in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision)
  • Understanding of front-end development processes (HTML/CSS/JavaScript frameworks) to enable effective design handoff and collaboration
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commercial awareness, understands the relationship between design decisions and business outcomes (e.g., revenue, engagement, LTV)
