Ainsworth (a GDI Company) is hiring a Graphics UI Designer to develop graphical interface screens for building automation system operator workstations, working closely with engineering and service technicians.
Responsibilities
- Read/understand mechanical drawings, shop drawings, and controller databases to produce Graphical User Interfaces
- Occasionally create visual graphics to support the sales department
- Communicate with customers and service teams to improve the usability of the UI
- Assist in identifying inefficiencies in the graphics creation process and to help develop solutions to improve efficiency
- Work individually or coordinate with team members to quickly complete larger projects on schedule
- Visualize and implement design solutions in a cost-efficient manner
- Organize information from multiple sources and communicate with other teams or customers when further information is required for optimal accuracy
- Use creative thinking to design new graphical assets when needed to improve the display of information
- Understand the use of simple programming logic blocks or scripts to create dynamic data display and user interactions
Requirements
- A strong understanding of web-based design/layouts/iconography
- A strong understanding of the Adobe Suite (Photoshop/Illustrator)
- A basic understanding of HTML/CSS is a bonus
- The ability to communicate and work in teams
- The ability to visualize and implement design solutions quickly and cost efficiently
- 3D modelling/rendering and image editing/Photoshop experience is an asset
- A strong, clean visual design sense with an understanding of digital design fundamentals
- High level of attention to detail
- The ability to work without supervision
- Good customer relations skills
