Principal Product Designer - Remote

Lead the design of end-to-end product experiences across the payments platform, focusing on high-leverage areas. Partner with stakeholders to understand client needs and develop user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of end-to-end product experiences across our payments platform, with a focus on high-leverage, high-complexity areas
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to deeply understand client needs, business context, and technical constraints
- Develop and refine user flows, wireframes, working wireframes, and high-fidelity designs, using modern tools and rapidly iterating with stakeholders
- Leverage AI and generative tools to explore interaction models and increase design velocity, bringing creative thinking to how AI is embedded in our product
- Conduct lightweight research and validation, either independently or in partnership with product teams, to ground your decisions in user evidence
- Define, contribute to, and evolve our design system and standards, ensuring visual and interaction consistency across surfaces while championing best practices in UX, accessibility, and usability
- Present design strategy and execution clearly to executive stakeholders and cross-functional partners, driving alignment and action
- Working with ProductOps, define and evolve the design intake and collaboration processes that ensure timely, high-quality design involvement across the product development lifecycle
- Act as a mentor and coach to other designers and cross-functional peers, modeling high-quality thinking, craft, and collaboration
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing digital products with increasing scope and complexity, ideally in B2B or fintech environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and influence product direction in cross-functional settings
- Deep expertise in UX/CX and interaction design, coupled with a sharp visual design sensibility
- Strong systems thinker who can abstract complexity and design intuitive solutions across multiple surfaces and user types
- AI fluency: familiarity with current design tools, and a clear POV on how AI can enhance product UX/CX and workflow
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks and design system integration processes
- Experience working independently and navigating ambiguity; able to align cross-functional teams without relying on hierarchy or formal authority
- Clear, persuasive communication skills for articulating design rationale and engaging stakeholders across disciplines and levels
