Lead Product Designer, UX Design & Design Systems, CoStar Product

The Senior Product Designer at CoStar Group leads end-to-end experience design and the creation of the design system, shaping how design scales at the company.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the development of our design system – from component libraries and documentation to governance and implementation
• Design thoughtful, end-to-end user experiences that reflect clarity, consistency, and usability across complex workflows
• Establish and champion high standards of product design – visual polish, interaction quality, accessibility, and responsive behavior
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers and other designers to shape strategy and deliver high-impact features
• Set up scalable processes and workflows that improve team efficiency and design quality
• Conduct research and testing to validate ideas and inform both product and system level decisions
• Explore and bring in emerging design trends and technologies that push our capabilities forward
• Mentor teammates and help cultivate a culture of craft, curiosity, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or related field from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College
• 8+ years of experience designing digital products with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional product thinking and system-level design
• Proven experience creating or scaling a design system
• Deep understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and accessibility best practices
• Proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto-layout, and design tokens
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• A systems thinker with a strong sense of detail and craft
• A passion for exploring what’s next in design and technology
• A track record of commitment to prior employers

Key Skills

• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (HTML/CSS/React) and design to development workflows
• Experience in SaaS, B2B, or multi-product environments
• Knowledge of design operations, multi-brand systems, or token-driven architectures
