Urban Outfitters - UX Designer

As a UX Designer, you will shape the digital experience for customers across the website and mobile applications. You will conduct user research and collaborate with various teams to deliver a best-in-class e-commerce experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct user research (interviews, surveys, usability testing, A/B testing) to understand behaviours, needs, and pain points
- Analyse data from tools such as Google Analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings to identify opportunities for improvement
- Develop user personas, journeys, and empathy maps to inform design decisions
- Create intuitive information architecture, navigation structures, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for e-commerce features
- Ensure designs are consistent, responsive, and accessible (WCAG standards)
- Collaborate with product managers to define requirements and translate business goals into customer-centric solutions
- Work closely with graphic designers and developers to align UX with brand and ensure feasibility of implementation
- Present research, design rationale, and recommendations to stakeholders, incorporating feedback
- Plan and run usability tests, iterating based on findings and business objectives
- Contribute to and evolve the design system for consistency and efficiency
- Stay current with UX/UI best practices, competitor activity, and emerging technologies
Requirements
- Proven UX design experience, with a strong portfolio showcasing a user-centered design process from research to implementation
- Experience designing for online retail/e-commerce platforms is essential
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision)
- Experience with user research tools (e.g., UserTesting.com, Hotjar, Optimizely, Qualtrics)
- Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) to inform design decisions
- Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
- Core UX Skills: Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex user needs into simple, elegant solutions
- Proficiency in conducting various user research methods and synthesising findings
- Expertise in creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and other design deliverables
- Solid understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and usability principles
