The Senior Digital Product Designer will own the design system and lead the design and governance of client design systems. They will drive the end-to-end design process for key product features and act as the design lead in client-facing interactions.
Responsibilities
- Own the Design System: Lead the design and governance of our client’s design systems. You will be responsible for building and scaling component libraries into full design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency across all products.
- Execute on Product Design: Drive the end-to-end design process for key product features, from initial concepts and user flows to high-fidelity, production-ready UI mockups and prototypes.
- Lead Client Engagements: Act as the design lead in client-facing interactions. You will facilitate discovery workshops, present design concepts, and confidently articulate the rationale behind your decisions to client stakeholders.
- Articulate and Defend Your Work: Clearly communicate design strategy and decisions to cross-functional partners, including Product Managers, Engineers, and leadership. You are expected to provide and receive feedback with a high degree of professionalism.
- Collaborate for Quality: Work in a tight, collaborative loop with engineering to ensure your design vision is implemented to the highest standard, understanding technical constraints and opportunities.
- Uphold the Craft: Champion design best practices within the company and contribute to a culture of design excellence. Mentor other team members where appropriate.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer or UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on complex, shipped products.
- Direct experience working in-house at a product-led technology company, and consulting or working at an agency.
- Undeniable expertise in creating, maintaining, and scaling a design system.
- Deep understanding of visual hierarchy, typography, layout, and atomic design principles with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Confident presenter and facilitator, comfortable leading meetings and workshops with senior-level client stakeholders.
- Exceptional ability to articulate the 'why' behind your design decisions, using a combination of design principles, data, and user insights.
