The UI/UX Designer will focus on designing user experiences for the Mercari app and web services, improving existing products, and conducting user research to identify challenges and propose solutions. The role involves collaboration with engineers and project managers to support prototyping and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Design UX/UI for apps and web centered around Mercari
  • Support product structure understanding and design for new features
  • Improve UX/UI, conduct growth hacking, and design marketing promotions
  • Discover and propose improvements based on user research
  • Establish and articulate design concepts
  • Advance projects (progress management, resource management, scope adjustment)
  • Collaborate with engineers and PMs for prototyping and implementation
  • Participate in improving design systems and guidelines

Requirements

  • Design thinking for business growth and social issue resolution
  • Experience creating intuitive interfaces based on user behavior and needs
  • Ownership of product and proactive approach to business
  • Interest in AI and latest technology
  • Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Logical information design skills (wireframes, user flow design)
  • Experience with Design Systems and existing components
  • Conceptual thinking and ability to articulate design concepts
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design skills for digital products
  • Japanese: Proficient (CEFR - C1)
  • English: Basic (CEFR - A2)
