UX Researcher

PLOS is seeking a UX Researcher to shape products and services by uncovering user insights and guiding product strategy.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product teams to identify and oversee UX research initiatives.
• Establish, implement and oversee a research program.
• Conduct in-depth interviews, surveys, ethnographic studies, usability testing, and other research methods.
• Synthesize and analyze research findings to generate actionable insights.
• Promote user-centered design principles throughout the product development cycle.
• Communicate findings and present recommendations in engaging and innovative ways.
• Mentor designers in conducting independent research and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Work closely with designers to contribute to the emerging design system.

Requirements

• Expertise in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Knowledge of scholarly publishing and/or scientific research is desirable.
• Ability to work independently.
• Related degree is preferred.
• Previous experience and a strong portfolio are required.
