You will work on the user experience across features within the Duolingo language app and play a leadership role on the product design team. Collaborating with designers, engineers, and product managers, you will help define the long-term strategy and short-term tactics for our products.
Responsibilities
- Work on the user experience across features within the Duolingo language app.
- Play a leadership role on the product design team.
- Work collaboratively with designers and artists to build upon and expand the Duolingo design language.
- Partner with engineers and product managers to define both the long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for products.
- Work on broadly defined, loose concepts and narrowly defined, tactical features.
- Work in a highly enthusiastic fashion with the design and product teams.
- Consider all parts when crafting the experience: from copy to animation to business impact.
- Use a mix of internal and third-party AI tools at every step of the creative process.
Requirements
- An online portfolio with mobile app or web design samples.
- Design experience in a consumer application, product, or software role.
- Desire to strive for excellence in work until all details are attended to.
- Ability to explain work, process, and decisions and seek feedback.
- Experience ideating, building, and prototyping with AI tools like ChatGPT and Cursor.
Key Skills
- Experience managing early-career designers and developing design talent.
- Experience working at a high-paced tech start-up.
- Illustration and/or animation skill-set.
- Experience participating in or leading user research sessions.
- Shipped AI-driven products.
