As a Principal Product Designer, you will oversee the design of Teya's product ecosystem, ensuring a seamless user experience. You will also mentor and guide other designers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead End-to-End Design: Oversee and craft high-quality experiences across the entire product portfolio, including onboarding, payments, acquiring, localisation, content, and the help centre
- Mentor and Guide: Support and train designers, helping them develop leadership skills and elevate their craft
- Design System Governance: Maintain and evolve Teya’s design system to ensure consistency across all banking-related interfaces
- Fintech Expertise: Apply deep financial services knowledge to solve complex user problems, particularly in sales management, settlements, acquiring, and merchant reconciliation
- User Research: Conduct and interpret user research to inform and validate design decisions
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and leadership to align design strategies with business goals
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in product design, with a history of managing teams in the past but now seeking a hands-on, IC-focused role
- Deep expertise in financial services, including sales management, settlements, acquiring, and merchant reconciliation
- Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
- A strong design portfolio showcasing high-quality, well-crafted experiences across multiple products
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and elevate other designers
- Ability to operate at both a high strategic level and a detailed execution level
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders
