The Graphic Designer will create on-trend apparel graphics that align with Gap’s seasonal messages and assist in identifying seasonal graphic trends. Responsibilities include producing graphic presentation boards and reviewing production samples for quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Create on-trend apparel graphics that support Gap’s seasonal messages and align with divisional design concepts
- Understand and assist in identifying seasonal graphic trends and provide analysis through online / in-store research, as well as gather relevant inspiration outside of apparel
- Assist Senior graphic designer in authoring tools to communicate these trends to the cross-functional team
- Design into seasonal concepts that consider merchant roadmap, cost targets and consumer insight information
- Earn ownership of a specialized category within the division; driving creative concepts and presentations to graphics team leaders
- Produce and maintain graphic presentation boards for milestone meetings in coordination with Senior Designer and director
- Identify opportunities for newness and innovation by utilizing the graphic trend forecast when creating graphic content and the execution of relative graphic techniques
- Prepare and maintain graphic artwork production files as needed against seasonal milestones and pipeline production considerations
- Review production samples to ensure quality and accurate execution of production
- Present design executions to cross functional partners during product reviews
Requirements
- BA Graphic Design preferred, or equivalent experience
- 3-7 years apparel graphics experience
- Knowledge of graphics production (e.g., printing methods, apparel graphic techniques, etc.)
- Strong computer skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, Miro, Clo, etc.)
- Strong hand skills (Illustration, painting, drawing)
- Strong time management, interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Strong sense of image and type
