Lead Product Designer, UX Design & Design Systems, CoStar Product

Lead the development of the design system and design thoughtful user experiences across complex workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish high standards of product design and improve team efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the development of our design system – from component libraries and documentation to governance and implementation
• Design thoughtful, end-to-end user experiences that reflect clarity, consistency, and usability across complex workflows
• Establish and champion high standards of product design – visual polish, interaction quality, accessibility, and responsive behavior
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers and other designers to shape strategy and deliver high-impact features
• Set up scalable processes and workflows that improve team efficiency and design quality
• Conduct research and testing to validate ideas and inform both product and system level decisions
• Explore and bring in emerging design trends and technologies (like design tokens, AI tools, theming, and variable typography) that push our capabilities forward
• Mentor teammates and help cultivate a culture of craft, curiosity, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or related field from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College
• 8+ years of experience designing digital products with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional product thinking and system-level design
• Proven experience creating or scaling a design system, with a strong grasp of componentization, reusability and cross functional alignment
• Deep understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and accessibility best practices
• Proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto-layout, and design tokens
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills – able to clearly explain design decisions, influence without authority, and work fluidly with cross functional partners
• A systems thinker with a strong sense of detail and craft
• A passion for exploring what’s next in design and technology and applying it thoughtfully to real product challenges
• A track record of commitment to prior employers
