Product Designer

The Product Designer will contribute to creating user experiences for connected Master Lock products, focusing on both digital and physical interfaces. This role involves collaboration with senior designers and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Using skills to contribute to elegant user experiences that span digital and physical interfaces
• Designing in collaboration with senior designers
• Leveraging available quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions
• Communicating and collaborating closely with software product managers, category managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
• Contributing ideas and advocating for refinements and improvements to the user experience
• Working across the design stack
• Participating in workshops and cross-functional sessions
• Supporting user testing and research activities
• Collaborating with internal teams and ecosystem partners

Requirements

• 3+ years of design experience, with 1 year focused on IoT products
• A BA/BS in design, UX/UI, HCI, or equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency in Figma, prototyping, and collaborative design processes; familiarity with Jira
• Working knowledge of design systems
• Familiarity with interaction design and prototyping tools like Protopie
• Strong visual design skills
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles
• Understanding of Material Design and Apple’s human interface guidelines
• Experience contributing to end-to-end product design in an agile environment
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Proactive mindset
• Familiarity with user journeys, use cases, and user modeling
• Experience in developing use cases and user journeys in a scrum agile framework
• Understanding of how connected devices communicate via the internet
