The Graphic/UI Designer will create visually engaging and user-friendly demo experiences for Moodle's showcase sites. This role involves collaboration with various teams to ensure designs align with customer needs and brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Demo Sites team members notably the Learning Designer and its team Developers, as well as Sales and other UI focused functions across Moodle to design visually engaging, user-friendly, and accessible demo experiences.
- Apply user-centred design principles to create layouts, graphics, and UI elements that align with Moodle’s brand, messaging, and accessibility standards.
- Develop creative concepts and high-quality visual assets (e.g., graphics, icons, banners, infographics, motion graphics and video) that elevate and complement the demo site platform experience, learning content and Sales collateral across the product suite.
- Iterate on designs based on stakeholder and user feedback, ensuring a consistent, high-quality look and feel across all demo site elements.
- Contribute to and work with Moodle’s design system, maintaining consistency, accessibility and scalability.
- Gather insights through user, Sales and customer feedback and research to refine visuals, layouts, and user flows.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a graphic design or UI role delivering high-quality digital designs for web-based experiences.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating visual design skills, including layout, typography, branding, colour, infographics, and video.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, marketing, development) to deliver cohesive design outputs.
- Ability to follow Moodle brand guidelines, create generic branding for suitable industry verticals and mirror important prospect branding.
- Familiarity with user-centred design principles and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), applying them to improve usability.
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Strong communication skills to present design ideas and rationale clearly.
Key Skills
- Experience working on learning platforms (LMS, LXP) or in an EdTech/SaaS environment.
- Familiarity with Moodle or similar open-source platforms.
- Understanding of design systems and component libraries.
- Basic HTML and good CSS skills for customisations.
- Experience conducting or contributing to user research and usability testing.
- Knowledge of designing for multilingual/multi-audience environments.
