Print Production Prepress Graphic Designer

The Prepress Graphics Designer prepares digital artwork for printing, ensuring it meets technical specifications for the printing process. They adjust color, fonts, image resolution, and layout to prevent errors during printing.
Responsibilities
- Quality Philosophy: Demonstrate a commitment to the quality effort. Promote a team approach to problem solving. Never sacrifice quality just to make a deadline.
- Job Duties: Ensure best practices, established procedures and all industry consistencies are being followed with all projects. Correctly assemble images/files per instructions. Prepare images/files for output for various printing processes. Work with Prepress Supervisor or other Graphic Services leadership in order to cover scheduling needs. Review proof to check content and quality of images. Follow all procedures for process flows. Ensure documentation is filled out correctly. Work with Prepress Supervisor to train other team members.
Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent preferred. Trade school or apprentice program.
- Minimum 5 years working in Photoshop and Pre-Press related fields in Manufacturing.
Key Skills
- Adobe Creative Suite: Expertise in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Understanding of Printing Processes: Knowledge of different printing methods (e.g., offset, digital, flexographic, Roto Gravure) and their requirements.
- Strong Graphic Design Skills: Knowledge of design principles, typography, and layout.
- Color Management: Understanding color theory, color spaces, and color correction techniques.
- Must have a good working knowledge of electronic pre-press systems. (Trapping, Color Rotation, File Resolution, etc.)
- Problem-Solving Skills: Identifying and resolving issues related to file preparation and printing. Being a proactive thinker to provide solutions for problem areas regarding all applications.
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicating with clients and other team members.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in reviewing files and ensuring accuracy.
- Proven ability to utilize and apply analytical skills.
- Organizational and priority setting skills are a must to be successful in this role.
