As an Associate Designer, you will support Owned Brand Product Design and Development with direction from design leaders. You will assist in preparing product specs and developing trim, print, embellishment, and hardware packages.
Responsibilities
- Support Owned Brand Product Design and Development with direction from design leaders to achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives
- Maintain a diligent and self-directed approach to workload, and provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external partners
- Support product/trend research, trend concepts, color, and design/development of products
- Assist the team in preparing product specs, and developing trim, print, embellishment, and hardware packages
- Translate ideas using CAD/hand sketches
- Complete design/technical sketches and professional presentation boards/materials for meetings, and vendor partners
- Work closely with the Technical Design department, working together to communicate fit and construction details
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or similar area of study, or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience
- Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software
- Ability to stay aware of Trends and Fashion
- Understanding of textiles, garment construction/fit or raw materials & product production
- Experience assimilating product feedback
- Ability to research and apply market/trend information
- Ability to build strong partnerships in order to successfully work in a team environment
