Accessibility Graphic Designer to integrate inclusive design practices within FranklinCovey's digital and visual assets, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.
Responsibilities
- Audit and enhance UI components within the design system to ensure compliance with accessibility standards, focusing on aspects such as color contrast, focus states, and keyboard navigation
- Create and maintain clear, actionable documentation for accessible design practices within the design system
- Collaborate with developers, UX writers, and product managers to embed accessibility considerations from the initial design phase through development and deployment
- Champion inclusive design methodologies by promoting user diversity and involving individuals with disabilities in research and testing
- Lead or facilitate accessibility training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to upskill team members
- Integrate accessibility testing and user feedback throughout all stages of the design process to identify and resolve issues early
- Maintain and update accessibility resources, patterns, and tools in response to evolving standards and user feedback
- Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of accessibility initiatives and communicate successes to stakeholders
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in visual design, with a portfolio demonstrating accessible design work
- Deep understanding of accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.2 and PDF/UA (PDF/X-UA)
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools including Adobe InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, and Figma
- Experience remediating and tagging PDFs for screen reader compatibility
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a collaborative environment with excellent attention to detail
- Familiarity with localized content design workflows and tools
- Experience conducting accessibility audits using testing tools like PAC 2021, Axe, NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver
- Strong communication and presentation skills for training and advocacy
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous learning and improvement
Key Skills
