UX Designer - Global eCommerce

Costco IT is seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer to join the Global eCommerce UX team, responsible for creating compelling user experiences for Costco's products in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with solution architects, product owners, business users, and other IT/business stakeholders to design exceptional user experiences for multiple products concurrently
• Solves complex design problems using the user-centered design (UCD) process
• Uses a variety of iterative design methods to drive thoughtful design decisions
• Analyzes and evaluates current user interfaces and proposes usability improvements
• Conducts competitive analysis research
• Creates interactive simulations/prototypes to help project teams, stakeholders, and users explore and understand proposed business solutions
• Maintains and enforces UX style guides, UI standards, and interaction design pattern libraries
• Mentors and aids junior designers in the design process

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years demonstrated professional experience as a UX designer
• Online portfolio demonstrating the ability to create great design solutions applying UCD methodologies
• Experience combining design thinking with OKRs
• Expert knowledge of current industry design tools, specifically Figma
• Demonstrated understanding of mobile UI patterns and interactions and experience designing for native mobile applications
• Experience with design system frameworks
• Strong understanding of accessible design principles and familiarity with WCAG 2.1 guidelines
• Experience with front end development technologies (HTML/CSS)
• Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct user research activities
• Experience with planning and executing usability studies and reporting results back to project teams and business stakeholders
• Creative and pragmatic problem solver with a strong attention to detail
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills
• Iteratively refine designs based on feedback and collaboration with leadership and peers
• Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed
• Strategic thinker able to act tactically and solve problems quickly
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
• Awareness of current and emerging industry trends and best practices
• Experience designing cross-channel experiences for mobile and web (recommended)
• Experience designing user interfaces in an enterprise Agile environment (recommended)
• Proficient in Google Workspace applications
