You will shape the design system, workflows, and user experiences for Infracost, focusing on simplifying complex FinOps and engineering interactions. This role involves running research and usability testing while owning the end-to-end product design process.
Responsibilities
- Be the voice of users: Run lightweight research and usability testing with developers and FinOps practitioners, building empathy across personas.
- Own end-to-end product design: Define outcomes, design user journeys and multi-step flows, translating cloud cost and FinOps concepts into intuitive, user-friendly experiences.
- Shape our design system and visual identity: Implement and evolve our design system in Chakra UI and Storybook, own Infracost’s visual identity—style guidelines, brand, and UI standards.
- Collaborate to drive impact: Partner closely with product and engineering leads to define requirements, prototypes and iterations, and with customer-facing teams to ensure solutions land well in the field.
Requirements
- Product design expertise with a strong portfolio demonstrating shipped work at B2B SaaS companies.
- Design craft: Exceptional attention to detail in both interaction and visual design, with the ability to bring clarity and polish to complex workflows or technical domains.
- Product thinking: Ability to connect design decisions to product strategy and business outcomes.
- Tooling: Proficiency with Figma, and familiarity with prototyping and research methods is required. We use the Chakra UI framework and Storybook.

About Infracost
Shift FinOps Left. For engineers, we help engineers know cloud costs before they buy resources via infrastructure as code. We also help them make cost optimization as they code vis our FinOps Policy Packs, and ensure that all resources that can be tagged, are tagged correctly. All in the code, the source of truth. For managers, FinOps and team leads, as soon as Infracost is connected to your GitHub or GitLab environment, we scan it and report on all the resources that are using non-FinOps compliant resources (e.g. old instance types, old volumes, no data retention policies etc), and all resources which are failing your tagging policy. This creates a list of resources to fix within the code, including exactly which code line item has to be fixed. This enables engineers to act fact and fix issues.
