Lead User Experience Researcher for a maternity cover based in Berlin or Lisbon, supporting the Attract to Publish program of work.
Responsibilities
- Absorb past research to get familiar with users, their behaviors, and needs.
- Understand publishing trends and markets.
- Understand platform performance to help users achieve their goals.
- Build relationships with stakeholders to understand goals and priorities.
- Highlight gaps in knowledge to be covered in the research strategy.
- Create a unified view of fundamental user goals.
- Work with teams and domain-wide roles in Attract to Publish.
- Adapt approach across different areas of the domain.
- Tackle and shape the UX user research strategy for Attract to Publish.
- Mentor and support less experienced researchers and designers.
- Utilize existing and ongoing research to agree on research strategy priorities.
- Use other data to shape appropriate user research.
- Design and socialize the research strategy.
- Plan and conduct research.
- Work closely with UXers in Attract to Publish.
- Help teams use research outcomes to feed roadmaps, product strategies, and OKRs.
- Plan just enough research to be available at the right time in delivery teams.
- Be autonomous and proactive.
- Work with UX Designers and product teams to translate questions into research activities.
- Collaborate with Market Intelligence team and Analytics.
- Improve current processes, tools, methods, and mindsets.
- Recruit, organize, plan, and run workshops, studies, and research activities.
- Apply relevant research methods.
- Build time to learn new techniques and evaluative methods.
- Motivate and involve team members in research activities.
- Share findings within the project, programme, and design team.
- Keep teams and communities up to date on research activities.
- Work closely with Research Manager in London to shape the future of research.
Requirements
- Multiple years of experience in qualitative and quantitative research.
- Experience in researching different stages of product development.
- Experience in coaching less experienced researchers and designers.
- Experience in designing research strategies that help the organization gain insights on key areas.
- Experience in feeding actionable insights into multiple product teams from foundational research.
