Product Designer, App Design (Digital Strategy And Product) (English Services)

The Product Designer will collaborate with a team to improve the audience experience on mobile apps, ensuring user-centric designs that are iteratively refined based on feedback. They will also advocate for accessible and inclusive design practices while maintaining design standards and systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and experiment with UX design and research teams, product and technical leads, programming, editorial and content management system (CMS) teams.
- Balance editorial, content, and commercial requirements β including authentication, monetization and subscription strategy β with human-centred principles and practices.
- Foster a learning culture by socializing design patterns, facilitating co-creation, and fostering a learning culture.
- Examine choices and decisions through the lens of data and evidence.
- Develop and maintain design system libraries and standards that contribute to quality and cohesion.
- Advocate for accessible, ethical, inclusive, and cooperative practices and designs.
- Champion collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Invest in the public service mandate to inform, enlighten, and entertain.
- Design, prototype, and test accessible apps, websites, and other digital platforms such as Alexa.
- Work closely with the UX researcher to interpret quantitative and qualitative data from user research, usability testing, and workshop facilitation.
- Document, communicate, and present evidence-based design work that supports business objectives and product strategy.
- Estimate, plan, and prioritize work.
Requirements
- Applied digital product design experience and a portfolio of work showing app development.
- Degree in a digital product design-related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience designing for news/audio apps or content websites or information-heavy product experiences (preferred).
- Experience working with third-party services (preferred).
- Created complex design systems (preferred).
- Ability to communicate clearly in English.
- Excellent knowledge of user experience and content architecture (UX).
- Excellent knowledge of interface design (UI).
- Knowledge of Figma, Sketch and the Adobe suite.
- Knowledge of HTML and/or native app technical specifications (asset).
- Knowledge of digital accessibility rules (asset).
- Good knowledge of the media market, particularly in a digital context.
- Knowledge of spoken and written English, is mandatory.
