Lead the design vision and execution for various product experiences, focusing on user engagement and retention. Conduct user research and design user journeys to create impactful and motivating experiences for Change.org users.

Responsibilities

  • Design intuitive, motivating, and trustworthy experiences that engage, activate, and retain both existing and emerging user groups
  • Lead the design vision and execution for new nonprofit product experiences
  • Design a compelling MVP experience for a new user group: nonprofit staff
  • Launch nonprofit-specific features that build trust and drive action
  • Extend the design system to accommodate new nonprofit use cases
  • Conduct discovery research with a range of nonprofit users, leading to actionable product insights
  • Develop the paradigms for how users create a more personalized experience of our petitions
  • Create and validate mental models for how users engage with petitions
  • Design user journeys across multiple touchpoints across the lifecycle
  • Translate personalization strategies across a number of channels
  • Use data and experimentation results to optimize flows, improve conversion metrics, and refine personalization strategies
  • Design new flows and features that grow a new type of user
  • Work collaboratively to identify and build new efforts to increase the number of impactful petitions
  • Develop new features and optimize existing experiences that measurably increase petition creation, supporter activation, and community engagement
  • Conduct user discovery and emotional mapping to inform product decisions
  • Rapidly prototype and test concepts, using data and qualitative insights to refine flows and engagement mechanisms for maximum impact
  • Deepen understanding of petition supporter needs and motivations
  • Lead strategic design thinking to define and prototype new supporter-facing features
  • Shape a holistic UX vision and strategy for the supporter journey
  • Drive measurable improvements in petition outcomes (signatures, shares, decision maker responsiveness)

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product/UX design experience, including some B2C and/or product-led B2B experience
  • End-to-end UX expertise, including strategy, new feature development, UX, and UI
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative user research experience with significant experience moving from discovery to experimentation
  • Experience building products and features that guide users through emotional journeys (health tech, fintech, civic tech, etc.)
  • Experience designing for small or medium-sized businesses or nonprofits (bonus)
  • Growth design experience (bonus)
  • Experience with personalization and lifecycle design (bonus)
