Onsite Contract Senior

Aquent Talent is seeking a Senior Visual Designer to lead the creative development of visual elements and systems for a top social media company's flagship platform.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative development of visual elements and systems, collaborating with diverse design groups including product designers, art directors, communication designers, illustrators, animators, and external partners.
  • Direct and execute the design of creative assets across various styles and mediums.
  • Create sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and/or design specifications essential for guiding art and product development.
  • Deliver delightful and strategically impactful products that showcase a high level of craft and quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, effectively balancing stakeholder needs, and translating complex requirements into simple, compelling solutions.
  • Clearly articulate concepts and vision to cross-functional teams and vendors, driving towards shared milestones.
  • Inspire and sustain a culture of excellence, with a strong focus on craft and quality in all work.
  • Partner with product, research, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for product enhancements that amplify brand expression and elevate overall work quality.
  • Lead the development of culturally sensitive and appropriate creative for multiple global markets, ensuring relevance and utility.
  • Align on key priorities with cross-functional teams to establish shared goals, milestones, and objectives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience encompassing interaction design and visual design, with demonstrated proficiency across various platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience collaborating cross-functionally with teams such as product, design, engineering, marketing, and user research.
  • Proven experience building and shipping applications or software across a variety of platforms.
  • Experience leading design direction across multidisciplinary teams, with the ability to identify visual design opportunities and elevate the overall product experience.
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly represent work to broad cross-functional stakeholders, including product teams, articulating goals and concepts effectively.
  • Adept at flexing thinking from high-level strategy to creative execution, user experience, and tactical details.
  • Strong understanding of when to approach projects from a high-level overview versus zooming into intricate details.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, capable of clearly and persuasively communicating complex, sometimes abstract, concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly incorporate design feedback.
  • A track record of fostering an inspiring and inclusive team/work culture, empowering all team members to have a voice.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design principles related to design systems, brand, marketing, and publishing, coupled with an understanding of UX design, digital product design, information hierarchy, user-flow, and typography.
  • Experience coordinating, directing, and providing creative direction to contractors, agencies, and in-house designers.
  • Successful in fast-paced environments, managing multiple dependencies, demonstrating independent time management, task prioritization, flexibility, and proactively identifying and solving problems.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, exhibit creative leadership, maintain detail-orientation, and deliver highly organized results.
  • Experience bringing clarity to complex and sometimes ambiguous projects and processes.
