Product Designer (Core Experience) - TikTok UX (San Jose)

Product Designer role at TikTok's UX team to drive the end-to-end experience of key business modules in the core TikTok app.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive design for TikTokβs core product experience, including video consumption framework, video-related components, and user account & customer service modules
- Collaborate closely with product managers, researchers, UX writers, and engineers to define problems, generate ideas, and deliver high-quality solutions
- Participate in every step of the product development process β from early concept ideation, wireframing, and prototyping to pixel-perfect design and post-launch iteration
- Translate product strategy and user insights into intuitive flows and engaging UI, with strong attention to visual quality and consistency
- Rapidly prototype, gather feedback from stakeholders, iterate quickly, and ship best-in-class user experiences
- Continuously optimize designs through data analysis, usability testing, and A/B experimentation to improve key metrics
Requirements
- Solid experience with UX and UI design, with a portfolio demonstrating strong visual craft and well-reasoned design decisions
- Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end β from strategy to launch β with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to rapidly generate multiple design concepts, iterate based on data and feedback, and deliver under fast-paced conditions
- Curious, proactive, and self-driven; eager to explore new ideas and technologies (interest in AI-driven design a plus)
- Strong communication skills β can clearly articulate design rationale and facilitate alignment across teams
- Open-minded, collaborative, and resilient when facing feedback and change
- Global product awareness, passionate about improving user experience for diverse audiences
- 3+ years of experience designing for consumer-facing products across mobile and web, ideally in video consumption, social, or content creation products (preferred)
- Experience working with data-driven design, A/B testing, and continuous iteration (preferred)
- Familiarity with front-end development or ability to work closely with engineers on implementation details (preferred)
- Enthusiasm for TikTok and its creator community (preferred)
