The Graphic Designer designs and creates marketing and communications materials for the Office of Student Life. This role coordinates the design process, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and adhere to visual identity guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Design and create marketing and communications materials that consistently identify, drive and communicate services offered by departments within the Office of Student Life.
- Work with the Art Director to determine creative direction, plans, estimates and timetables for projects.
- Coordinate design process including production of artwork, submitting final layouts and designs for approval, securing of production estimates and keeping projects on schedule.
- Adhere to and support The Ohio State University and the Office of Student Life visual identity guidelines.
- Coordinate design phase of production.
- Assist in development of archival systems for cataloging digital files.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in design with visual communications major or degree from an accredited design or art institute with a graphic design major or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Desired: 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Computer proficiency on MAC-based platforms.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other layout programs.
- Knowledge of design principles.
- Ability to develop motion graphics using After Effects.
- Working knowledge of professional printing standards.
- Experience working in a student affairs or higher education setting.
