A Senior UX Designer role to join a cross-functional team supporting digital products for Veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), focusing on user needs and data-driven design decisions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs across product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with researchers to integrate user insights into design decisions.
- Contribute to and extend design systems and component libraries.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and technical feasibility.
- Document design decisions and maintain clear design artifacts.
- Mentor peers and lead design critiques.
Requirements
- 5+ years of UX/product design experience with a strong portfolio.
- Strong understanding of mobile-first design principles.
- Experience with design systems and reusable component libraries.
- Proficient with tools such as Figma and Mural for collaboration and design.
- Comfortable navigating GitHub for collaborating with engineering teams.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Deep familiarity with accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG (a11y) compliance.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex findings into clear insights for diverse audiences.
