UI/UX Designer

Design elegant, intuitive interfaces for Synchron’s brain-computer interface platform and create wireframes, user flows, and visual designs. Collaborate with R&D and clinical teams to bring designs to life and champion accessibility in user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design elegant, intuitive interfaces for Synchron’s groundbreaking brain-computer interface (BCI) platform, empowering users with limited mobility
• Create wireframes, user flows, and visual interface designs for polished UI that scale across devices and contexts
• Contribute to a cohesive cross-platform design system that supports both rapid prototyping and long-term product evolution
• Partner with R&D and clinical teams as a key member of the product team to bring your designs to life in real-world applications
• Champion accessibility, designing experiences that are inclusive, empowering, and compliant with WCAG and other standards
• Use Figma to drive the full design process, from exploration to final assets and documentation
• Participate in user research and feedback loops to continuously refine and elevate the user experience
• Help define the visual and interaction language for novel input methods and interaction paradigms
• Occasionally support broader design needs across the company, such as, but not limited to, presentation decks or marketing materials

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related field
• 3–5+ years of professional experience in UI design for web, mobile, or embedded applications
• Proficiency in Figma for delivering complete design experiences
• Strong portfolio showcasing clean, intuitive interfaces and thoughtful interaction design
• Understanding and experience with design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles
• Background in game design, habit-forming applications, health or fitness applications (desired)
• Understanding of accessibility standards including WCAG 2.1/2.2 and Section 508, and their application to interfaces designed for users with limited mobility or motor control (desired)
• Familiarity with the Apple product ecosystem, including Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and Apple’s accessibility standards (desired)

• Understanding and experience with design systems, component libraries, and responsive design principles
