Responsible for product design and development of licensed Disney Consumer Products toy lines. Works with licensees to create innovative products and ensures product design excellence.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for product design and development of the licensed Disney Consumer Products toy lines.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with Licensees and Vendors.
- Works with licensees in all creative aspects of product development.
- Handles product approvals including creative revisions, uploading and downloading in OPA (Online Product Approval software), detailed comments, and prioritizing approvals within allotted time.
- Ensures product design excellence by making character and product corrections, creating new artwork and making artistic contributions to new initiatives.
- Applies knowledge of new trends and innovation in marketplace.
- Recommends creative ideas and products to build business.
- Presents and sells ideas to management, cross-functional partners, and licensees.
- Coordinates with Manager on new projects and scheduled deadlines.
- Works directly with key content partners and manages product feedback to licensees.
- Limited domestic travel for onsite product approval with licensees and trade shows.
Requirements
- 2+ years of related experience designing toys, from concept through production.
- Solid knowledge in hardlines categories (raw materials, plastic, textiles, print, pattern, graphic composition, manufacturing).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong product design skills (e.g. 3D product design, technical design, sketching, creative application and manipulation of art, final mechanical art, fabric and trim identification).
- Strong computer software skills (e.g. MS Office, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
