Lead the end-to-end design process for complex features and products, collaborating with engineers to implement specifications. Partner with various teams to ensure the customer remains at the center of decision-making and contribute to design systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process for complex features and products
- Support a product that is still in its early stages, designing net-new concepts that make life more enjoyable for customers
- Dream up new ways of solving long-standing problems
- Partner with solutions architects, tech teams, and business development to refine product offerings and secure new commitments from business partners
- Run user research to test how customers interpret and respond to the experience being designed
- Partner with a solutions architect to build a working prototype for a conversational experience
- Operate with ownership and autonomy throughout the day
- Adopt and extend existing design systems
- Develop new patterns and uncover best practices
- Contribute to Alexa Enterprise Figma libraries and share what has been learned with the team
- Incorporate insights from relevant Alexa research
- Conduct hallway testing
- Run user research with Dscout to inform and validate decisions
- Partner with peer designers, product and tech owners, marketing, solutions architects, and business development to ensure the customer remains at the center of decision-making
Requirements
- 8+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
- Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
- Experience designing in an agile development environment
- Ability to read, understand, and consult on client-side engineering to extend design systems
