Onsite $149,600 - $224,400 Full-time Lead
The Principal UI/UX Designer will lead the design of digital UI for the Pelvic Health platform, collaborating with a diverse team to create user-centered designs. Responsibilities include developing design systems, preparing mockups, and supporting user testing.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the development, governance, and maintenance of the next-generation common design language and design system.
- Collaborate with UI, UX, human factors, and system engineers to conceptualize, design, and iterate mobile and cloud-based applications that empower clinicians and patients to control neurostimulation implants.
- Partner with software developers on the implementation of UI design.
- Prepare design mockups and interactive prototypes to facilitate generative and usability research.
- Generate and maintain user personas, journey and experience maps, and contribute to the definition of jobs to be done.
- Support user testing in the field.
- Work closely with the product development and marketing teams to ensure products support stakeholder needs and align with brand standards.
- Develop and support standard operating procedures and practices.
- Be comfortable with frequent customer contact and demonstrate knowledge of the customer journey.
- Consider technology, platforms, and architecture while applying human-centered techniques in design approaches.
- Collaborate across the Medtronic enterprise to coordinate the creation, implementation, and governance of design systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in UI design that interfaces with hardware, not just software applications.
- Experience owning and maintaining design systems.
- Some level of UX experience to ensure seamless integration with internal customers and user needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with software engineers and other stakeholders.

- Experience using tools such as Figma, ZeroHeight, Miro, and UX research platforms like Dovetail or Great Question
