The Product Designer participates in the development of overall design and specifications for creating and enhancing the experience and functionality of user interfaces and Envestnet’s products. They are responsible for understanding project goals, crafting high-quality designs, and collaborating with team members to ensure successful product outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Product Knowledge: Ask good questions, understand project goals, present multiple paths forward, identify gaps, understand customer voice, leverage research, justify ideas based on evidence, recognize industry patterns and trends
- Craft & Quality: Demonstrate understanding of layout, typography, visual hierarchy, use Envestnet Design System, be crisp and thorough, aware of existing patterns
- Communication & Collaboration: Actively ask questions, share design work weekly, receive feedback well
- Action & Impact: Regularly ship designs, understand customer impact, meet deadlines, keep team on track
- Leveling Up Others: Participate in design team meetings, provide actionable feedback, participate in hiring processes
- Independence: Work with less oversight, identify opportunities independently
- Adhere to Envestnet's legal, compliance, risk, business continuity, and administrative policies
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience on a design team actively working through the entire product development lifecycle
- Experience producing and maintaining high-quality and easy-to-follow design specs in Figma
- Passion for building a deep understanding of products' customers, industry, and competitive landscape
- Experience working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and product marketing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
