The Associate Product Designer will collect and incorporate feedback from team members while becoming familiar with the current state of user experience. They will work with engineers and product teams to ensure design quality and contribute to team design rituals.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and incorporate feedback from fellow team members.
  • Become familiar with the current state of a system or user experience.
  • Establish familiarity with product design and the release cycle by supporting work and contributing components that lead to hitting team and our goals.
  • Work with engineers and product teams to ensure design quality and consistency of shipped flows and interactions.
  • Contribute to team and product design rituals.
  • Practice transparency around keeping your team and mentors updated on your status.
  • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.

Requirements

  • A portfolio of work that showcases your design process along with finished design work.
  • 1+ years of experience designing digital web or app products, with recent experience designing interactive products or tools.
  • Proficient in using digital design tools such as Figma.
  • Experience adapting to changing priorities and incorporating feedback from colleagues to refine work.

  • Demonstrated experience with visual design principles, type hierarchies and layout, and systems
  • Proficient in prototyping tools (Figma, Play, Cursor)
