Design intuitive navigation and discovery experiences for users to find and understand data and AI products. Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to unify navigation and discovery within Databricks.
Responsibilities
- Design intuitive navigation, browsing, and discovery experiences that help users find and understand data and AI products
- Create experiences that work for a spectrum of personas, from business users to data stewards, with consistency across discovery, catalog, and browse
- Bring a high level of craft to file-browsing trees, lists/tables, grids/galleries, facets/tags/smart folders and other UI patterns
- Use information design, iconography, and visual hierarchy to make concepts like trust, relevance, and data quality easy to understand
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and research to ship high-impact improvements that unify navigation and discovery within Databricks
- Strengthen both your own work and the team’s practice by seeking and providing design feedback
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of product design work experience
- Strong product design craft and technical acumen, with a focus on clarity and simplicity
- Clear communicator who can explain and document the behavior of components and patterns
- Ability to turn complex metadata into clear cues that communicate trust, freshness, and suitability
- Experience gathering feedback from diverse user groups and collaborating with user researchers
- Proven ability to ship customer-facing products with measurable impact
- Portfolio showcasing the end-to-end design process, from inception to production
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent, ideally with specialization in HCI, interaction design, computer science, or related disciplines
- Experience prototyping in code or working in front-end frameworks preferred
