The graphic designer will provide design solutions for university devotionals and commencements while collaborating with clients and team members. They will manage multiple projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and adherence to project timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between University Events and Marketing and Communications’ design team, understanding their objectives and translating them into effective visual solutions.
  • Utilize existing templates for flyers, digital signage, and social media to promote devotionals and commencements.
  • Review content to ensure accuracy and compliance to the university editorial style guide and any other applicable style guides.
  • Come up with design solutions when content placement needs to be adjusted in the existing templates.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the target audience for each project and design with their preferences and needs in mind.
  • May be assigned to design and create other deliverables that are not mentioned, for these events.
  • Abide by project timelines and deadlines to ensure clarity and alignment between clients and the design team.
  • Independently manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and maintain a high standard of quality.
  • Proactively communicate project progress, potential roadblocks, and solutions to clients and team members.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree in graphic design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Express) and other relevant design tools.
  • Tech-savvy and quick to learn new tools for work processes, such as Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, and using an iMac.
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationales effectively.
  • Detail-oriented approach to design, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills, enabling the management of multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and independently.
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude and ability to collaborate within a team-oriented environment.
